PARISH TESTIMONY

CONFIRMATION PREPARATION

Over the years, we have met thousands of young people preparing for Confirmation and when we asked them if they feel they are ready to receive the Sacrament, many hesitated. We came to realize that their hesitation was based on some larger questions that they had on their hearts.
 
These were good and important questions. And often times, asked by multiple students. Questions like "Who created God" and "What is the Holy Spirit and why should I pray?". Questions that matter and lead to important and honest conversations.
 
Armed with these questions, and the teachings of the church our team is excited to share our very own Online Confirmation Preparation Program! This program can be done online at home, or in-person at your parish!

We have received an Imprimatur and a Nihil Obstat from His Eminence Cardinal Collins of the Archdiocese of Toronto.

PROGRAM DETAILS

THE MARK

In the home: Candidates will get an email with a prompt to click a link and set up their password. When they login, they will see their Confirmation Course! They will click on the Program Icon and have the program available and easily accessible! The program is designed that Candidates CANNOT move through to the next session, until they have completed the first program. Videos cannot be skipped or fast-forwarded.

At the parish: candidates will watch the video with their peers and your Sacramental Coordinator. The program can begin with a game, then video and then can break into small groups for discussions.

​

Email us if you would like to see a sample of how the program works, with your very own login. We can walk you through the program sample as if you were in the real thing!

 

This is a video-based program. This can be done individually at home or in-person!

HopeStone desires to help you with many aspects of the Confirmation Preparation Progress. You can facilitate Virtually at home or In-Person at the parish!

In the home: You complete your parish registration for Confirmation and send candidates their own link for the Sacramental program.

  • You send HopeStone the first name, last name and an account email address per Candidate.

  • We will then send your Candidates an email to set their password. They can begin immediately. You can choose the release dates! You monitor their progress as we send you reports.​

At the parish: You complete the parish registration for Confirmation then plan 6 - 7 sessions with the candidates at the parish. 

  • You will receive a LEADER GUIDE that takes you through how to run the program at the parish. 

  • You will receive a SMALL GROUP LEADER GUIDE that volunteers can use to help assist them through the program and small groups. 

  • We give you a login where you can simply access the program and show each time you have a meeting.

This is a condensed Confirmation Preparation Program. We understand parishes have different needs. We also understand the restrictions that Covid has put upon all of us.

​

In this program, we focus on the absolute necessary Catechetical points in our faith and the Confirmandi should know. We speak to Candidates at their level and answer the questions they have while systematically going through those pivotal points. Going deeper, we share personal testimonies from very real, authentic and relatable people. (See below for more details about specifics in the program).

SESSION 1:  God’s Timeline

Part 1: “How do they know God is real?”

Part 2: Talk and Catechesis "Discovery, Source and Mission"

Part 3: “How do I know God is real in my life?

​

In this first session, we will cover questions like:

​

  • Where did it all begin?

  • Where did God come from?

  • Who is God?

  • Who is Jesus?

  • What is Pentecost?

  • Who is the Holy Spirit?

  • How will the Holy Spirit help us?

SESSION 2:  Our Timeline

​

Part 1: “Why is Faith important in my life?”

Part 2: Talk and Catechesis "My Life, my Mission, My Holiness"​

Part 3: “How does the Holy Spirit work in my life?”

In this second session, we will cover questions like:

​

  • Your beginning

  • Your Baptism

  • Your First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion

  • Now into Confirmation – why do I need to be Confirmed? 

  • Grace – what does this mean?

  • The gifts of the Holy Spirit

  • Are you ready to receive your Mark?

FULL PROGRAM

(6 sessions)

We will expand on all of the beautiful Church teachings and share essential Catechesis throughout the program, with the use of games, activities for submission, testimonies and prayer.

Each session will include:

  • An opening prayer by a Priest from the Archdiocese of Toronto.

  • A Catechesis Talk by a HopeStone team member with personal or saint story.

  • A Personal testimony by a range of incredible individuals.

  • EITHER - A journal entry to submit (for Candidates at home, completing individually) or A set of discussion questions to be answered as a group virtually or in-person.

  • HopeStone will export then email the leader - Candidate progress reports.

  • You can arrange small groups Virtually to discuss questions or sessions. 

  • HopeStone will export then email the leader - files of all Candidate submitted information.

CONFIRMATION RETREAT

WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR CANDIDATES TO EXPERIENCE A CONFIRMATION RETREAT?

We have THREE options!

Without any additional work, parishes can add our 2-3 hour Pre-recorded Virtual Confirmation Retreat to their Confirmandi Sessions. we recommend allocating about 3 hours to comfortably facilitate the retreat with candidates.

​

  1. In-Person Confirmation Retreat. Contact us to schedule info@hopestone.ca .

  2. Virtual Confirmation Retreat. 2-3 hour, engaging and interactive pre-recorded video retreat.

  3. At home independent Retreat. Candidates can have the retreat added to their accounts,        or new accounts made and they can go through an independent version of the retreat at        home. We recommend giving candidates between 1 -2 weeks to complete the program          on their schedules.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need to download any software for this program?

Not at all. We run on a web-based platform.

 

How do I know the Candidates are finished the sessions?

The candidates cannot skip through any of the sessions. The video must be viewed completely to proceed to the next sessions. Also, after each video, we have placed a few questions to ensure they were paying attention.

 

What is the difference between you and other programs?

Great question! We are all on the same team, trying to bring Glory to God! If there is a program that works for you. That's amazing! We have committed ourselves to developing a program geared towards the essentials of Confirmation. We dig deep into the meaning, into the linear line of of our faith. Answering questions we've heard thousands of young people ask us during Confirmation retreats!

Do you offer refunds?

Unfortunately, because this is web-based program, refunds are not possible.

 

Do you offer discounts for parishes?

Contact us directly to inquire for larger groups.

 

How long does this program take?

This program length is completely up to you. You let us know and we can set the program up to release videos on a times release, or all together so families can go at their own pace with a completion date.

Can we run a program in-person?

Yes, simply watch the video series together and follow along the program.
